At the event, Deputy Editor-in-chief of the Saigon Liberation Newspaper Ms. Ly Viet Trung said that over the past time, along with promoting information dissemination on the COVID-19 pandemic, the Saigon Liberation Newspaper has also mobilized organizations and individuals to support medical equipment and supplies for border guard forces. She expressed her hope that these gifts will encourage troops on the frontline of the fight against the COVID-19 to fulfil their missions.

Addressing the reception, Colonel Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Politics of the Border Guard Command said that despite the harsh weather, the border guard forces stationed in border areas are determined to prevent the disease and ensure security.

Up to now, border guard troops have continued to set up checkpoints to control and prevent the COVID-19 pandemic in border areas. In particular, the Vietnamese border guard units established more than 500 checkpoints along the Vietnam-Cambodia shared borderline.

“The meaningful gift will encourage troops to continue to overcome all difficulties and successfully fulfill their tasks,” Cuong emphasized.
