This year, they exchanged 472 alerts about search and rescue at sea and seaports. The coast guard force mobilized 66 vehicles, coordinated with agencies and units under the Vietnam Maritime Administration to conduct search and rescue missions, saving 269 people, finding 22 bodies and towing 30 distressed boats ashore.

Joint forces also identified both domestic and international ships transporting illegal goods on the Vietnamese waters.

They teamed up with other local forces to boost information dissemination on law and ensuring safety and security while operating at sea for ship owners and fishermen.

They also pointed out shortcomings during coordination and reached a consensus on reinforcing maritime information exchange, organizing security exercises and effectively getting involved in missions on search and rescue at sea.
