Vietnam coast guard standing by fishermen
PANO – A program to connect the Vietnam Coast Guard force with fishermen in 2017 was organized by Flotilla 302 of the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 on May 23 and 25 in Ninh Van commune, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province.

The event featured practical and meaningful activities, such as incense offerings in commemoration of fallen soldiers, information dissemination on national seas and islands, the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the Law of the sea of Vietnam, and the Vietnam Coast Guard, a drawing contest on seas and islands for students from Nguyen Phan Vinh Secondary School and Ninh Van Primary School, free health check-ups for more than 250 locals, a training course on giving first-aid to drowning people, and an artistic exchange.
On the occasion, Flotilla 302 and Ninh Van district signed an agreement on realizing the model “Coast Guard force standing by fishermen.”
The organizers handed over 40 gifts to policy beneficiaries, needy people and students with good academic records in Ninh Van commune, presented scholarships to two needy local students and 200 national flags, life jackets, and 20 medical kits to fishermen, 300 notebooks and 100 sets of clothing to primary, secondary schools and a kindergarten in the locality.
