Ha was enjoying dinner with four friends before flying home. She spotted a foreigner having meal with his wife on the table next to hers standing up and suddenly falling down, going unconscious. She promptly rushed to him, checked the carotid pulse, shouted to nearby people to call emergency service 115 and then performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Nurse Ha said that she was on a vacation in Da Nang. As scheduled, she was on a flight to Hanoi at 20:00 on March 24. However, she received a message from the airline for a delay until 24:00. Thus, her friends and she decided to dine in that restaurant and witnessed the incident. Ha recalled that she could not understand how strong she was at that time. She pulled the man from his wife, laid him down, and gave him CPR in a timely manner.
After dozens of cycles, the patient regained consciousness and was hospitalized for further treatment.
According to Bach Mai Hospital’s Director Assoc. Prof. Dao Xuan Co, the patient is now in sound mind, without any sequelae in terms of mind and movement, thanks to timely CPR assistance. He said that he was delighted at his staff’s timely intervention to save the patient.
