The event, which drew the participation of some 3,000 people, was part of the “2017 Red Sunday” movement under the theme “Blood donation to save people’s lives - Your life and my life”, launched by Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper; Cho Ray Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center.
This humanitarian drive, the ninth of its kind held by the newspaper and the Youth Union Central Committee, helped raise public awareness of the significance of blood donation, called on people from all walks of life to show their compassion to others by donating blood to save lives of compatriots.
First launched in 2009, the drive has been organized at the beginning of every year to meet a growing blood demand of patients nationwide.
