PANO – The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) of Da Nang city in collaboration with the Da Nang municipal Military Command and relevant agencies held a press conference on July 30th to make public the program held on the occasion of the 55th Vietnamese Day for Agent Orange (AO) victims (August 10th 1961 – August 10th 2016) in Da Nang city.

The press conference

The program scheduled on August 5th at Trung Vuong Theatre of Da Nang city consists of three major events: a meeting commemorating victims of AO and kicking off of the “Walking for AO victims” campaign; an exchange and gift presentation for AO children victims; and a fund-raising program for AO victims by artists from Ho Chi Minh city.

Activities of the program will contribute to disseminating the policies of the Party and State on dealing with the consequences of the toxic chemicals sprayed by US troops onto Vietnam during the war. The activities will also help raise people’s awareness of the long-run consequences of AO on the environment and people of Vietnam. The program aims to encourage people of all walks of life to help AO victims so that they could integrate into and lead a useful and meaningful life.
