Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hailed efforts made by relevant units in completing procedures to start work on the flyover, making contributions to reducing traffic jam in one of the most important roads in the city.
He asked the units to speed up the construction and ensure safety and quality, adding that the construction department needs to continue studying measures to assure traffic flow on the Ring Road 1 and other roads in the city.
Earlier, Hoang Minh Giam-Nguyen Chanh flyover, the capital city’s eighth steel flyover, was opened to traffic after five years of construction.
It spans a length of 595.7 meters with two nine-meter lanes, allowing vehicles to run at speeds of up to 40km per hour.
