PANO – A Fire on the Chua Chan Mountain (Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai province), known as the second highest mountain in the southern provinces at a height of 837 meters above sea level, was put under control on February 29th.

The fire has been put under control.

Earlier, the provincial authorities mobilized hundreds of people to extinguish a fire on Chua Chan Mountain, immediately after receiving the fire alert on February 28th. The blaze broke out at a height of 700 meters, causing a lot of difficulties for forces to get it under control.

Hundreds of people with bucket chains, fire extinguishers and tree branches successfully stamped out the fire after two days of fighting.

According to the provincial forest management body, the fire didn’t cause major damages as it mainly burnt bushes. The provincial responsible forces are investigating the cause of the fire.
