On the third day of the program, the campers learned about the province's history, culture, geography, and potential for economic development; joined a gong culture performance, themed “Echoes of the great forest” presented by ethnic minority artisans.
In a joyful and heartfelt atmosphere, the young overseas Vietnamese enjoyed captivating performances by the E De ethnic people, drank traditional “Ruou can” (fermented rice wine sipped through long bamboo straws), experienced playing folk musical instruments, sang songs about the Central Highlands, and tasted local coffee.
Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas and Head of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 delegation Ngo Thi Thanh Mai said that the program’s theme, “Together continue to write a story of peace" is a call for young overseas Vietnamese to join hands in spreading the nation’s values of peace, compassion, tolerance, and aspiration for development.
This year, the organizing panel chose Dak Lak as the site for the camp’s opening ceremony because it hosts numerous major national events. The province is historically significant as the place where the Spring Offensive 1975 began, leading to the liberation of the South and reunification of the country.
The program was designed to connect past and present, enabling young overseas Vietnamese to learn about the land, culture, and history of their Fatherland while also discovering its current development and economic potential, not just in Dak Lak, but across the nation.

As part of Vietnam Summer Camp 2025, the young delegates will also participate in activities in all three regions of the country. In Dak Lak province, they took part in activities such as offering incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Square, engaging in charity work to support ethnic minorities, experiencing gong culture, and visiting the World Coffee Museum.
