OVs will attend a seminar spotlighting Resolution No.98/2023/QH15 on a number of special mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City, and join a city tour on February 1.

On February 2, participants will offer incense to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang, and engage in the traditional ritual of releasing carps. They will also pay a courtesy call on leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and tour the headquarters of the municipal People’s Committee.

They will be received by leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, during which outstanding OVs will be honored. Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a banquet for them.

The highlight of the program is a meeting between the OVs and State President Vo Van Thuong, and an art program on February 2 night, which will be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television channels 1 and 4, and Ho Chi Minh TV (HTV).

First held in 2008, the “Xuan Que Huong” program has attracted a large number of OVs from all over the world, becoming an awaited event for them in Tet.

Last year, the art exchange held in Hanoi on January 14 within the program drew more than 3,000 delegates, including 1,000 OVs.
