Young OVs support the disadvantaged in Dak Lak
Young overseas Vietnamese (OVs) presented meaningful gifts to 35 disadvantaged households in Tuor B village of Ea Na commune, Dak Lak province, on July 16 as part of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025.
The gift presentation was organized by the State Committee for OVs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People's Committee of Ea Na commune.

Each of the beneficial families received a gift valued at 2 million VND (77 USD), aiming to help them overcome difficulties and improve their living conditions.
Mai Thanh Long, a Vietnamese student from the Czech Republic, shared that his group of nine participants felt very happy to assist many families in need in Dak Lak. He hoped the program will attract more overseas students to engage in charity activities and contribute to the homeland.
Ngo Thi Thanh Mai, Vice Chairwoman of the State Committee for OVs, said that visiting and presenting gifts to disadvantaged families is an important activity of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025. These efforts help support families’ living and educational conditions and also deepen the overseas youths’ understanding of and connection with compatriots in Vietnam.
Besides charity work, the young OVs had opportunities to visit famous landscapes and historical sites in Ea Na commune and to exchange with local youths. These activities aim to promote solidarity and the sharing of Vietnam’s history and culture with countries around the world.
Nguyen Duc Chon, Vice Chairman of the Ea Na People’s Committee, said that the charity activities by OV youths are not only a community service but also a chance to share love and support those in need. Through these actions, the spirit of mutual help among Vietnamese people is expressed and spread internationally. At the same time, the young OVs also gain beautiful memories and develop deep affection for the people and land of the Central Highlands.
Held from July 13 to 26, the summer camp gathers 110 young OVs from 31 countries and territories. It features various meaningful activities in several provinces and cities nationwide.
The opening ceremony will take place in Dak Lak on the evening of July 16.
