War-time bomb in Son La deactivated
PANO - Engineers of the Son La provincial Military Command, in collaboration with Song Ma district's Military Command, safely disposed of a huge bomb left from war in Na Bon village, Chieng Cang commune, Song Ma district, Son La province.

Earlier, a local in Chieng Xom village, Chieng Cang commune discovered the bomb while digging up the ground for the construction of his house.
He reported the case to the local authorities. After technical checks, the bomb was believed to be dropped by U.S. aircraft during the war in Vietnam. It weighed over 340kg with a diameter of nearly 0.4m and a length of about 1.26m.
Upon receiving the information, military engineers coordinated with the Song Ma district Military Command and local authorities to move the bomb to a safer place for detonation.
The bomb was defused, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment.
