Huge bomb defused in Quang Binh
PANO - The Quang Binh provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Military Command of Tuyen Hoa district and local authorities, safely handled a 340kg bomb numbered M1 17-750LBS on July 10.

Local people found the bomb while detecting scrap metal on the North-South railway route at Km 429+290 in Kim Ninh village, Kim Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district. They reported the case to the Military Command of Tuyen Hoa district.
Knowing the information, the Quang Binh provincial Military Command promptly mobilized relevant units to the scene to guard it, evacuate local residents to safer places, and prevent traffic congestion on the North-South railway route.
At the scene, the military engineers, together with local authorities, collected a 340kg bomb at a depth of 0.6m, about 6m from the rail. The bomb could explode at any time if its detonator were strongly impacted.
After that, the bomb was safely moved to the training ground T92 for detonation.
