The main purposes of the activities are to help troops in the whole military and people learn more about the victories, affirm the Vietnam-Cambodia traditional relations, honor and pay tribute to the great sacrifice of Vietnamese people and volunteer soldiers in the national construction and defense cause and in helping the Cambodian people overthrow the Khmer Rouge regime, and fight against hostile forces’ wrong allegations against the Vietnamese people’s fair-minded and wholehearted assistance and support for Cambodia.

The celebration is expected to uphold patriotism and independent and self-resilient spirit of the people and the military, and educate troops in the whole military, especially young soldiers, of the close Vietnam-Cambodia alliance in combat, contributing to cementing and developing the bilateral solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation.

In addition, the Ministry of National Defense continues to review and carry out the emulation-reward work, organize seminars and exhibitions to spotlight the victory, host artistic exchange programs, and send missions to present gifts to those making contributions to the victory.

As scheduled, the ministry will associate with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to hold a State-level ceremony to mark the victories.
