Seminar on the Mau Than Tet Offensive to be organized
PANO – The Steering Board of the National Seminar on “The Mau Than Offensive and Uprisings 1968 – Decisive Turning Point and Historical Lessons” met in Hanoi on December 6 to review preparations for the event.
Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy-Minister of National Defense chaired the meeting together with the participation of Sen. Lt. General Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy-Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The seminar will be co-organized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Central Commission on Communications and Education, and the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Steering Board, the seminar is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City later this month and over 100 papers written by leaders, commanders, generals, and witnesses were sent to the organizers.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission, General Le Chiem acknowledged and hailed the preparations for the seminar by the Vietnam Military History Institute and relevant agencies and asked relevant agencies to keep up the good work to make the seminar a success.
