In the 2021-2022 dry season, hash weather conditions and unexploded ordnance-contaminated terrain continued to be main factors affecting the search and collection of remains of fallen Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors in Khammouane province.
However, thanks to the timely leadership and support of the Military Region 4 Command, Steering Committee 515 of the military region and Quang Binh province, and Khammouane province’s leadership, armed forces, and people, Team 589 in charge of search and collection of remains of fallen soldiers overcame all difficulties to fulfill assigned missions.
So far, Team 589 has collected 17 sets of remains of soldiers who laid down their lives in Khammouane province.
