In realizing a plan on searching and collecting remains of fallen troops in Laos’ Khammuane province in the 2022 - 2023 dry season, Team 589 of the Quang Binh provincial Military Command has overcome all difficulties and hardships and collected 19 sets of remains of martyrs and their belongings.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ho An Phong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Head of the province’s steering committee for search, collection, repatriation, and identification of fallen soldiers' remains (steering committee 515 in short), expressed deep gratitude to the Lao Party, State, and people as well as Khammuane province’s party organization, authorities, departments, organizations, armed forces, and people for their coordination and support to Team 589 to complete their assigned missions. 

At the event, delegates laid wreath and offered incense in tribute to fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for national salvation cause and carried out the noble international service.

Remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors reburied at Ba Doc War Cemetery in Ly Trach commune, Bo Trach district

The same day, at Lao Bao and Den Sa San international border gates, Vietnam’s Quang Tri and Laos’ Savannakhet provinces held a handover ceremony for nine Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who sacrificed themselves in Laos. Their remains were found and collected by Team 584 of the Quang Tri provincial Military Command during the 2022 - 2023 dry season.

Also on May 17, the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Salavan provincial Party Organization, authorities, armed forces, and people solemnly organized a ceremony to hand over 16 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors' remains found and collected in Salavan province by Team 192 of the Thua Thien Hue provincial Military Command after seven months.
