21 sets of remains of martyrs to be repatriated
PANO - Steering Committee 515 of Vietnam’s Dak Lak province, and the Special Committee of Cambodia’s Mondulkiri province held talks to receive and repatriate remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisers who sacrificed in Cambodia in wartime.
At the talks, both sides reviewed their achievements in searching and collecting remains of Vietnamese soldiers in the dry season of 2022-2023 in the Cambodian province.
After five months, Dak Lak’s Team K51 received due care of both two committees and the support of the Mondulkiri provincial authorities, armed forces and people during their task implementation in the area.
Accordingly, the team dug thousands of cubic meters of soil and stones in the forests, former battlefields, and collected 21 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers and martyrs in wartime in Mondulkiri province.
As scheduled, on May 25, the Mondulkiri provincial authorities and people will hold a requiem, and a ceremony to repatriate the remains to their homeland. The activity contributed to promoting Vietnam - Cambodia relations.
