The Steering Board of the MND-level scientific seminar presents gifts to five national contributors in Trieu Lang commune, Trieu Phong district. |
The site is to mark the 100th birthday anniversary of the general (October 29, 1923 - 2023).
Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh and Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet attended the event.
The construction for the 7,500 sq.m memorial site was started on July 7 with the investment of VND 9 billion. It includes a memorial house for the general; a memorial house for his family; other auxiliary facilities; a courtyard; roads, flower beds and ornamental plants; a parking lot; among others.
The memorial house for the general showcases a number of memorabilia and photos highlighting the life and revolutionary career of General Doan Khue. The exhibits are divided into two topics, namely “Beloved hometown” and “General Doan Khue - An outstanding politician and military leader.”
The memorial site will be a “red address” to educate youths about the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army and heroic Quang Tri land.

At the event, on behalf of the CMC and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Gen. Vinh and his entourage offered incense and flowers to pay tribute to the general and to express gratitude for his great contribution to the Party’s revolutionary cause and heroic military building.
Writing in the visitor’s book, Gen. Vinh emphasized that Gen. Doan Khue was a loyal communist, an excellent politician and military leader. In any positions, the general always devoted all his spirit, energy and intelligence to the revolutionary cause, making great contribution to the national salvation, reunification, and Fatherland construction and defense cause.
Also at the event, Gen. Vinh, Gen. Quyet, and other delegates planted a tree on the site’s campus.

On the occasion, the Steering Board of the MND-level scientific seminar themed “General Doan Khue, loyal communist, outstanding leader and commander of the Vietnam People’s Army, an eminent son of Quang Tri” presented gifts to five revolutionary contributors in Trieu Lang commune, Trieu Phong district.
