Can Tho inaugurates memorial site for late President Ho Chi Minh
The Military Military 9 Command at the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho opened the memorial site to honor the late President Ho Chi Minh at a ceremony on May 31.
The site, spanning 1,200 square meters, includes a 450-square-metre wooden memorial house.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Hoang Thuy, Commander of Military Region 9, said the site is a place for military officers and people in the delta to come paying respect to the late President.

It contributes to educating the younger generations on the country’s patriotic tradition and revolutionary spirit, encouraging them to study and follow the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh and make contributions to their country, he added.
President Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) was the founder of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He founded and led the Vietnamese revolution to victory with the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in 1945.
