Memorial and burial service for fallen soldiers in Kien Giang
PANO – The Kien Giang provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the provincial Military Command on December 17 held a memorial and burial service for 262 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who had sacrificed their lives while carrying out their international service in Cambodia.
During the ceremony, the participants offered incense to commemorate the fallen soldiers whose sacrifices have contributed to consolidating the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Over the past time, teams in charge of searching and collecting fallen soldiers’ remains of Military Region 9 and the Kien Giang provincial Military Command have made great efforts in conducting their tasks in Cambodia. Nevertheless, there are still many remains yet to be found.
After the ceremony, the organizing panel buried the 262 remains at the War Cemetery in Ha Tien city.
