Meaningful gratitude activity for martyrs and wounded soldiers
PANO - The Vietnam Youth Federation’s Central Committee held a press conference to launch a program, themed "Following the footprints of heroes", on May 17 in Hanoi.
The program will be launched in celebration of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Vietnamese Day for Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers (27 July, 1947) and the 11th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The event will be held at 70 historic sites across the country from May 21 to July 26 to highlight the traditions "When drinking water, remember its source" and “Gratitude returning”; show youths’ gratitude to wounded soldiers and martyrs' families as well as families of revolution contributors; strengthen solidarity among the youth in implementing tasks of building and defending the Fatherland and promote education about patriotism and revolutionary tradition for young generation.
Accordingly, the program will include various activities such as promoting information dissemination on the glorious traditions of the nation and the sacrifices of heroic martyrs; presenting gifts to and taking care of Vietnamese heroic mothers, wounded soldiers, policy families; providing free health check-ups and medicines to local people, building and repairing houses of needy people who are wounded soldiers, martyrs' relatives…
The launching ceremony will take place on May 21 at the Monument of Heroes in Dien Ngoc ward, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province.
