The remains, discovered in the Cambodian provinces of Svay Rieng, Pailin, and Battambang since late last year, were repatriated through the Binh Hiep International Border Gate in Long An's Kien Tuong district. They were then brought to the Vinh Hung - Tan Hung war cemetery in Vinh Hung district for burial.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Tan Hoa expressed profound respect and gratitude to the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives to the cause of national liberation and the noble international mission.

He thanked the Cambodian authorities, people and military for their active cooperation and support in the search and repatriation of the remains, and expressed hope for their continued assistance in locating the graves of Vietnamese martyrs and volunteer soldiers in the future.

Since 2001, a team from the provincial Military Command tasked with searching and repatriating such remains has done its work on 2,500 martyrs and six mass graves containing those of 280 others.
