Logistics Museum receives war keepsakes
PANO - The Department of Politics of the General Department of Logistics in association with the liaison board of the war veterans association of the Logistics Department of the Southern Region Liberation Armed Forces and Thai Binh Duong Group held a ceremony to hand over repaired cars, cargo bikes and other keepsakes to the Logistics Museum of the Vietnam People's Army.
Among these objects was Gaz-63, a truck sponsored by the former Soviet Union and controlled by Hero of the People's Armed Force Loc Van Rong in the campaigns of the anti-French war. Notably, Trong and his vehicle had traveled a total length of over 30,000km with absolute safety, transferring thousands of tons of food and weapons to the battlefield.
The 70 years-old truck is now exhibited in the museum after being fixed and restored by Factory Z157 of the Department of Vehicles of the General Department of Techniques with a donation from Thai Binh Duong Group.
On this occasion, the museum also received three cargo bikes from Hero of the People's Armed Forces Dinh Con Chan and dozens of others from war veterans, martyrs' families, and historical witnesses.
