Troubled fishermen rescued
PANO – The Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue on July 20 revealed that Naval Ship 734 of the Vietnam People's Navy received 10 troubled fishermen who had been successfully rescued by a foreign ship.
Earlier, at 10:00 on July 19, trawler QNg 95239 TS with 10 fishermen on board sank due to high waves while fishing in the East Sea (South China Sea). At 13:30 the same day, a foreign ship rescued the 10 fishermen and informed Vietnam’s relevant agencies of the incident.
After receiving the information, the Ministry of National Defense instructed the Navy to send Ship 734 to the scene. The ship then took the troubled fishermen to Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island in the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands of Vietnam the following day.
