Ship 952 towing a drifting trawler
Earlier, at 21:30 on March 31, the command received a mayday signal from the distressed trawler, captained by local fisherman Nguyen Thanh Hong. The boat went  adrift due to  engine failure about 85 nautical miles southeast of Ly Son Island.

The command sent on-duty ship 952 to the scene for a rescue mission. At 6:30 on April 1, the rescue ship approached the trawler and towed it with all crew-members on board to Ly Son port.
