Reportedly, at 6:50 on January 18, receiving information about distressed fishermen at sea, Flotilla 2 of the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command quickly sent Ship BP 20-13-04, operating in Tien Hai commune, Ha Tien city, Kien Giang province, to the scene for the rescue mission.

Towing the trawler ashore 

At 7:40, the ship approached the trawler and successfully saved three distressed fishermen, named Doan Van Hai (born in 1988), Nguyen Thanh Dang (born in 1995), and Dang Ngoc Tho (born in 1986). All of them came from Tien Hai commune.

At 13:00 the same day, troops of Flotilla 2, in coordination with local fishermen, towed the trawler ashore with absolute safety.

The trawler was captained by fisherman Dang Ngoc Tho and sank due to harsh weather conditions.

* On the same day, Ship SAR 412 of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center brought two patients who had stroke at sea ashore for further treatment.

Giving first aids to the two patients

Earlier, at 7:30 on the same day, the center received mayday signal from the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command about two patients, Nguyen Nhanh and Pham Van Anh from Bai Ong village, Tan Hiep commune, who suffered from stroke while they were on Cu Lao Cham island.

The ship quickly approached the two patients and brought them ashore for further treatment.
