Son Ca island receives distressed fishermen
PANO – On November 7, Son Ca (Sand Cay) Island in Truong Sa island district of Khanh Hoa province received nine fishermen on a distressed trawler, said Political Commissar of Son Ca Island Naval Captain Nguyen Van My.

Earlier on November 1, due to rough sea and strong winds, trawler QNg 90499 TS with 11 fishermen on board was overturned while fishing at sea. Nine out of 11 fishermen were able to cling to the trawler’s hull and went adrift at sea before reaching a sandbar. The remaining two are still missing.
On the morning of November 6, the fishermen were taken to Son Ca Island by trawler QNg 90671 TS.
After receiving the fishermen, the military medical personnel of Son Ca Island provided health check-up, accommodation, and necessities to them. At present, the health of all nine fishermen is stable.
As reported, trawler QNg 90499 TS was captained by Nguyen Van No, 26 years old from Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province.
