According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Khanh Toan from Con Roang Border Post, the unit is in charge of managing and protecting 29.326km of borderline and eight villages of Thuong Trach commune, Bo Trach district with uneven population distribution and difficult living conditions. Over the past years, local people have strictly observed the State’s law. However, there remain several cases of law violation.

Evaluating local situations, Con Roang Border Post has implemented drastic measures to maintain peace, prevent crimes and violations of the law. The unit has closely coordinated with other forces and local authorities to protect watershed resources, focusing on boosting law dissemination and education among local people. As a result, child marriage and consanguineous marriage have been eliminated.

Through law dissemination and education, border guards have mobilized people to join hands to protect national border and ensure security and order in the locality. Up to now, border units have given advice to local authorities to establish and maintain the operations of self-management teams to protect national border and border markers and ensure security and order in villages.

Dinh Hien, village patriarch of Cooc village, Thuong Trach commune, shared that through law dissemination and education, local people have raised their awareness of their role in safeguarding national border and maintaining security and order in the locality. Local people and militiamen have stood side by side with border troops to conduct patrols to protect national border and border markers.

Additionally, Con Roang Border Post has implemented models and practical activities to help people develop economy and eradicate hunger and reduce poverty. Border troops have called for funding resources to maintain models, including "Water wells in border areas," "Medical cabinets in border areas," "Loudspeakers in villages."  They also contributed 89 working days to help locals develop the model on plating forests, and more.
