Saigon Newport Corporation supports naval troops’ pandemic fight
PANO – A mission from Saigon Newport Corporation, led by its Deputy General Director Colonel Vo Hoai Nam, handed over donation to support troops of Naval Region 2 Command in their COVID-19 pandemic fight on October 5 in Vung Tau city.
Reportedly, amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, naval troops, including those from Naval Region 2, have both completed their training and combat readiness missions and prevented SARS-CoV-2 from entering their units and assisted localities in containing the virus. To encourage naval troops, Saigon Newport Corporation decided to allocate VND 700 million to assist the Naval Region 2 Command in carrying out the mission of COVID-19 prevention and control.
This practical deed demonstrated the close solidarity between naval units and contributed to the effective implementation of an emulation movement on preventing and containing the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the handover ceremony, Second-in-Command Officer and Chief of Staff of Naval Region 2 Senior Captain Le Ba Quan thanked Saigon Newport Corporation for the support and said that the donation will be soon handed over to needy naval troops and those working on the front-line in the COVID-19 pandemic fight.
The same day, Flotilla 129 under Saigon Newport Corporation handed over gifts, worth VND 2 million each, to its officers’ and defense workers’ families who are facing numerous difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
