Naval Region 5 Command's troops presenting gifts to local people

During the visit, the delegates inquired after locals’ health and their living conditions during the time the province imposed social distancing measures under the Prime Minister's Directive No.16. They also encouraged local people to overcome difficulties and strictly observe local authorities’ regulations as well as the Health Ministry’s 5K rules, including Khau trang (face mask), Khu khuan (disinfection), Khoang cach (distance), Khong tu tap (no large gatherings), and Khai bao y te (health declaration).

On the occasion, the missions handed over 100 gift packages, worth VND 300,000 each to local people. Each package includes rice, instant noodles, cooking oil and fish sauce. 

Earlier, the Naval Region 5 Command and its affiliates presented 200 gifts, worth VND 120 million in total, to pandemic-affected people on islands in Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces.

The same day, the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command handed over 200 gifts, worth VND 55 million, to needy Cham households in Khanh Binh commune of An Phu district.

The practical activity of the provincial border guard command was a source of encouragement for needy Cham people to overcome all difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reportedly, in response to the call of the command, benefactors have donated 2 tons of rice, 200 bottles of cooking oil, 200 bottles of soy sauce, 200kg sugar, 100kg monosodium glutamate and 10,000 medical facemasks.

The same day, a mission of Ho Chi Minh City Military Command, led by its Commanding General Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, presented 5,000 boxes of instant noodles, 15,000 medical facemasks, 1,500 N-95 facemasks to support the Long An provincial Military Command’s pandemic combat efforts on October 2.

At the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam highly appreciated the efforts of the province’s armed forces in combating COVID-19 pandemic in the province and its close coordination with and support to Ho Chi Minh City’s armed forces in the fight.
