Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong visited the families and paid homage to the following former Politburo members: Senior Lieutenant General Le Kha Phieu, former Party General Secretary, former Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP); General Le Duc Anh, former President, former Minister of National Defense; General Vo Nguyen Giap, Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army, former Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of National Defense; General Chu Huy Man, former Vice Chairman of the State Council, GDP’s former Chief; former Politburo members and Ministers of National Defense: General Van Tien Dung, General Doan Khue, General Phung Quang Thanh; General Nguyen Chi Thanh, former Politburo member, former Chief of the GDP; former Chiefs of the GS, former Deputy Ministers of National Defense: General Hoang Van Thai, General Le Trong Tan, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Khac Nghien; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Bang, former Deputy Director of the National Defense Academy.

General Cuong expressed profound respect and gratitude for the significant contribution of the former leaders to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation, and the military. He hoped that the families of the leaders would continue to uphold their glorious traditions, caring for and contributing even more to the development of the country and the military.
On the same day, the GS’s Chief visited and presented gifts to former Politburo members, former Ministers of National Defense: General Pham Van Tra, General Ngo Xuan Lich; former Central Party Committee members: General Do Ba Ty, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, former Chief of the GS and Deputy Minister of National Defense, and Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.
Additionally, Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, the GDP’s Deputy Chief, visited and presented gifts to former GDP Deputy Chiefs: Senior Lieutenant General Phuong Minh Hoa and Lieutenant General Le Hien Van.
* On July 25, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, the GDP’s Deputy Chief, visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education, the GDP’s former Deputy Chief.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau wished Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia good health and make further contribution to the Party's revolutionary cause and the building of the military. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau also informed Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia about the performance of military tasks, national defense activities, Party and political work of the entire military; the implementation of gratitude activities of the armed forces on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his delight at the achievements that the military has made in the past time and hoped that all military officers and soldiers would continue to uphold the fine traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers, strive to study and train hard, and be ready to receive and fulfill all tasks.
* On July 25, in Ngoc Kham ward, Gia Dong Commune, Thuan Thanh town, Bac Ninh province, the Military Region 1 Command organized a ceremony to hand over a charity house to the wife of martyr Nguyen Phu Vinh. Martyr Nguyen Phu Vinh, born in 1941, sacrificed his life on January 14, 1968, during the national resistance war against the U.S. invaders. His wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Be, currently resides in a house built in the early 1990s, which has deteriorated over time. The new house was completed on an area of 90 sq.m and was funded with VND 80 million from the gratitude fund by the Military Region 1 Command. The officers, soldiers, and various agencies of Gia Dong ward actively participated in helping the family with nearly 100 working days.
* A delegation from the Saigon Newport Corporation recently visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and families of martyrs, and national contributors in Ho Chi Minh City. In this year's Wounded Soldier and Martyrs' Day, the Saigon Newport Corporation donated hundreds of gifts to policy beneficiary families and contributors; organized meetings and presented gifts to officers, employees, and laborers whose parents were martyrs or wounded soldiers. Additionally, they inaugurated and handed over 38 gratitude houses to policy beneficiary families and people living in difficult circumstances in 18 provinces and cities, with a total budget of approximately VND 7 billion.
