Military hospital saves seriously-ill fisherman
PANO – Doctors of Military Hospital 175 received and provided intensive care for a seriously-ill fisherman who was transferred from Truong Sa (Spratly) Island District, Khanh Hoa province on September 26.
Previously, an EC225 helicopter of Army Corps 18 with an airborne rescue and medical team of Military Hospital 175 onboard flied to Phan Vinh Island of Truong Sa Island District to take fisherman Tran Quoc Oanh to the mainland.

The fisherman had experienced a terrible headache, falling into convulsions and frothing on his mouth when his ship was fishing at sea on September 25.
He was taken to the clinic on Phan Vinh Island for emergency treatment. The medical staff of the infirmary in Phan Vinh Island provided first aid and connected with Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City and Military Hospital 7 of Military Region 3 through a telemedicine system.
Doctors of Military Hospital 175 diagnosed that the fisherman had a brain blood vessel ruptured or broken.
Physicians advised their peers on the island to put the patient on ventilator and use drug against swollen brain. After receiving the treatment, the seriously-ill fisherman was transferred to the mainland for further treatment.
