Establishing villages and schools along the border

In Quang Truc commune, many new projects are being built, reflecting the Party, State, and military’s strong support for border areas to the west of the province. A new residential area with 60 houses, a football field, a community house, internal roads, and a lighting system has brought joy to local families.

Dieu Lot, a local resident, said his family had long dreamed of owning a sturdy house to settle down and develop their livelihood along the border. Receiving a new house made his family deeply grateful to local authorities and soldiers.

The residential area project began on February 6, 2026 with total funding of VND 12.5 billion from Military Region 7 and the Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee. The project was completed in just two months and handed over in time for the 51st anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2026).

Each nearly-50-sq.m house includes living facilities and utility systems. Families also received breeding cows and household items to help improve their living conditions.

Nearby, the Quang Truc Inter-level Boarding School for Primary and Secondary Education is nearing completion. The modern school campus includes classrooms, dormitories, a library, and supporting facilities.

Starting from the 2026-2027 school year, children from the new village will study there. Three additional boarding schools are also being built in Dak Wil, Tuy Duc và Thuan Hanh communes with total investment of VND 225 billion, accommodating 1,050 students each.

Joining hands to develop border areas

Lam Dong province has around 141 kilometers of land border. The border communes are home to many ethnic communities facing difficult living conditions and limited infrastructure.

To improve livelihoods and stabilize border populations, the provincial People’s Committee launched a project in early 2026 covering five border communes of Tuy Duc, Quang Truc, Thuan Hanh, Thuan An and Dak Wil. By 2030, the project aims to reduce the poverty rate to below 3%, ensure that more than 80 percent of the labor force receives vocational training and stable employment, upgrade infrastructure, allocate residential and farming land, and support durable housing construction.

Since early 2026, many projects have been implemented, especially in transportation, healthcare, technical assistance, and agricultural support.

During project implementation, the province has received strong support from central agencies, armed forces, and businesses. Alongside their key duties, armed forces units have actively participated in local socio-economic development activities.

Military Region 7 has funded and supported the construction of 60 houses in Quang Truc commune, presented 10 gratitude houses to disadvantaged ethnic families, and organized a number of meaningful programs for thousands of border residents.

Lieutenant General Tran Vinh Ngoc, Political Commissar of Military Region 7, stated that supporting the border region is both a responsibility and an expression of solidarity by the armed forces, contributing to socio-economic development, national defense, and maintaining a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
