Officers and personnel of Defense-Economic Unit 4, along with other forces, help residents of Na Ngoi commune repair storm-damaged roofs. |
Officers and soldiers from the Nghe An Provincial Military Command and Defense-Economic Unit 4 of Military Region 4 worked continuously to help residents recover and get back to normal life.
On the evening of April 29, strong winds, accompanied by heavy rain, tore off the roofs of 38 houses in the villages of Ka Duoi, Buoc Mu, Xieng Xi, Tang Phan, Ka Noi, Phu Kha 1, and Na Cang in Na Ngoi commune. Early the next morning, nearly 30 personnel from Defense-Economic Unit 4 coordinated with local authorities, border guards, and police to assist affected households.
Forces were divided into teams to carry out recovery work. Rain-soaked crops and food were quickly dried, while debris from damaged roofing sheets were cleared. Replacement roofing materials provided by Defense-Economic Unit 4 were delivered and installed to help families stabilize their living conditions. The unit also allocated VND 8 million to purchase materials and food supplies for five households that suffered the most severe losses.

In Muong Tip commune, the whirlwind uprooted several large trees. One fell onto a steel bridge leading to Pung village, severely damaging the structure, while another struck the house of Luong Xuan Viet, causing major damage. Under the direction of local authorities, more than 30 officers, soldiers, and militia members were mobilized to respond.
By the morning of April 30, fallen trees had been cleared, restoring safe access across the bridge, which was also reinforced. Repairs to Viet’s house were completed by May 1, including the replacement of the damaged roof.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Son, Head of the Military Command of Muong Tip commune, teams were immediately deployed to assess the situation and coordinate response efforts. While the whirlwind caused property damage, no casualties were reported. After nearly two days, initial recovery efforts in affected areas had been completed.
