Lai Chau troops help locals surmount flood consequences
PANO - The Lai Chau provincial Military Command on June 9 sent hundreds of officers, soldiers and militiamen to join hands in overcoming consequences left by recent flooding.

Reportedly, on the previous day, torrential rains caused landslides and flooding in different communes in the province’s Sin Ho, Muong Te, and Nam Nhun districts. A number of houses and roads were flooded.
In response to the calamity, the command mobilized over 300 troops to take measures to cope with torrential rains, flooding, and landslides in the localities, including repairing damaged houses, removing soil and rock from the landslides and clean up the environment, and evacuating local people in flooded areas and their property to safer places.
At present, the command is directing its troops to work with local functional forces to surmount the landslides and ensure smooth traffic.
