In Lai Chau province, heavy rain from the night of July 20 to the early hours of July 21 triggered landslides, blocking a section of National Highway 32 passing through Thai Ha village, Pac Ta commune.

The Lai Chau Provincial Military Command maintained a force of 350 regular troops and 320 militia members for search and rescue and flood recovery operations in Chit village, Muong Than commune. Another 100 troops were assigned to build houses for local residents whose houses were damaged by the flooding.

During the day, the forces cleared more than 2,000 cubic meters of mud and debris from schools, dredged and reopened 2.5 kilometers of irrigation canals, and helped local residents repair or rebuild 15 houses.

Meanwhile, in Lao Cai province, rescue and recovery teams continued disaster relief operations in Mu Cang Chai commune. They cleared 27 landslide-affected road sections, removing approximately 2,700 cubic meters of mud and debris, and repaired 73 houses.

Local authorities and military units assigned personnel to remain on standby, closely monitor weather and geological conditions. In addition, both civilian and military forces and equipment are ready to respond to any further natural disasters and recovery missions.
