Especially, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the unit made recommendations to the Phu Cat district People’s Committee to set up COVID-19 checkpoints at De Gi fishing port. The unit sent 11 troops to participate in eight COVID-19 checkpoints in coastal communes and townlets and collaborated with local authorities to carry out dissemination activities in 30 villages and quarters to encourage 3,250 households to join the movement to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic and fight against illegal entry and exit in maritime border areas.

Meanwhile, the unit distributed 2,500 leaflets; conducted dissemination activities via loudspeakers; called on individuals and collectives to donate VND 10 million for COVID-19 checkpoints and present three tons of vegetables and fruits, 200 boxes of instant noodles and other necessities to pandemic-hit people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thong, Secretary of the Cat Khanh commune Party Committee, over the past years, Cat Khanh Border Station has worked with and supported the locality in socio-economic development, security and order maintenance, and environmental hygiene.
