Eight distressed fishermen rescued in Binh Thuan
PANO - On March 16, the Border Gate of Phu Quy Border Port under the Binh Thuan provincial Border Guard Command actively supported eight fishermen in distress near Phu Quy island.
Accordingly, at 18:00 on the same day, the border post received information from Mr. Nguyen Tan Tai (born in 1988) from Long Hai commune, Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province.

Reportedly, trawler BTh 97564 TS, captained by Nguyen Thanh Sinh (born in 1982 from Long Hai commune, Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province), who is Tai’s relative, with eight fishermen on board, sank about 30 nautical miles off Northwest of Phu Quy island.
As the accident happened, the eight fishermen jumped out of the trawler and were saved by another boat fishing near the scene.
Currently, a trawler was sent to the scene to receive and bring the fishermen to Phu Quy island. After receiving the information, the Border Gate of Phu Quy Border Port confirmed the information and worked with relevant organs to invest the case.
The unit also kept contact with trawler BTh 97099 TS to grasp the fishermen’s health conditions so as to be ready to take care of their health right after they set foot on the island.
