PANO - Doctors of Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) infirmary in Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province received and provided an emergency surgery for a fisherman suffering from acute appendicitis on December 15.

Reportedly, Nguyen Thanh, a fisherman working onboard trawler QNg 97193 TS, had signs of abdominal pain and slight temperature while fishing at sea and was taken to Song Tu Tay for emergency aid.

Military medical staff on the island diagnosed that the patient was suffering from acute appendicitis and recommended immediate surgery. The surgery was successfully conducted after one hour.

Currently, the patient’s health is in stable condition, and he is still staying in the infirmary for further monitoring and treatment.

Fisherman Nguyen Thanh is a local in Nghia An commune, Quang Ngai city, Quang Ngai province. He was working with other six other fishermen on trawler QNg 97193 TS.
