Medical staff on Da Lat Island checking the fisherman's health

Earlier on February 15, while fishing in the waters near Da Lat Island (Ladd Reef), the Truong Sa archipelago, fisherman Nguyen Cang had abdominal pain in right iliac fossa, mild fever, and high blood pressure. He was taken to Da Lat Island for first aid by other fishermen on BTh 97819 TS before being transferred to Truong Sa Island.

On Truong Sa Island, the military medical team consulted with their colleagues from Military Hospital 175 and diagnosed that the patient had acute appendicitis at the 22nd hour and needed appendectomy, abdominal lavage, and drainage. After two hours, the surgery was performed successfully.

Currently, the patient's health is stable, and he continues to stay on the island for further monitoring.
