DK1/7 platform’s military medical staff checking and providing emergency aid for the fisherman

Earlier, trawler QNg 95139 TS, captained by Mr. Ho Van Chau from Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province, approached DK1/7 platform and requested medical assistance to injured fisherman Tran Van Quy (born in 1993 in Binh Chau commune). While fishing at sea, Quy was bitten by an eel. The wound on his right wrist was 7cm long and 2cm deep.

The medical staff of DK1/7 platform immediately supported the trawler to take the fisherman to the platform for emergency aid. After receiving the patient, the platform’s commanding officer sent a medical team to check the wound, apply tourniquet to stop the bleeding, wash and disinfect the wound with povidone. Having carefully checked the wound, the medical team anesthetized and sutured it and provided the patient with antibiotics, pain killers, anti-edema, vitamins, and gauze bandages and instructed him on how to change bandages.

After emergency treatment, the patient's wound stopped bleeding, and his health became stable.

Later, DK1/7 platform safely handed over the fisherman to trawler QNg 95139 TS.
