Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, attended the event.
During the program, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command presented a television to Duc Pho commune, offered 30 gifts to policy beneficiaries, fishermen with difficulties in Pho Vinh ward, and handed over 300 national flags to Pho Vinh ward.
Within the framework of the program, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command coordinated with the provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission to organize a contest themed “I love national sea and islands” at Pho Vinh Secondary School in Duc Pho town.
The contest saw the participation of 60 outstanding students from Pho Vinh Secondary School. The contestants answered multiple-choice questions related to knowledge about Vietnam’s sea and islands, the Law of the Sea of Vietnam 2012, Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, negative effects of drugs, measures to prevent and combat drugs, school violence, and tasks, functions and traditions of the coast guard force, to name but a few.
Concluding the contest, the organizing panel presented a first, a second, a third, and a consolation prizes to outstanding students.
At the contest, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command also granted 10 bicycles and 20 scholarships to disadvantaged children with excellent academic results, and a computer set to the school.
