Speaking at the signing, Major General Bui Quoc Oai said that the "Coast guard stand by fishermen" program has been implemented by the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard since 2017. Over the past years, the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard has signed coordination agreements with 16 Standing Boards of the provincial and municipal Party Committees to carry out the program. The program is also to concretize the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard and further improve the efficiency of mass mobilization work in Phu Yen province.

For his part, Secretary of the Phu Yen provincial Party Committee Pham Dai Duong said that the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee always accompanies, supports, and well implements the signed contents between the two units.

He emphasized the importance of dissemination work, helping enhance people’s awareness of national sea and islands and encourage them to contribute to safeguarding national sovereignty over sea and islands.

At the signing ceremony, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command handed over 200 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to policy beneficiaries and needy fishermen in Phu Yen province.
