During the program, many meaningful activities were held, such as offering incense at a Martyrs’ Monument in Thuy Xuan Commune; organizing a contest themed “I love my national sea and islands”; disseminating information about the Vietnam Coast Guard Law, drug prevention and combat, and regulations on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing to people and fishermen in the communes of Thuy Truong and Thuy Xuan; inquiring after and presenting gifts to five heroic Vietnamese mothers in the locality; handing over gifts to policy households and needy fishermen, among others.

According to the flotilla’s Political Commissar Senior Colonel Tran Van Nam, the program aimed to mobilize the locals to follow the Party’s guideline and State’s policies and laws while raising their awareness of their own responsibility, thereby actively contributing to building the all-people national defense posture at sea.

Chairman of the People’s Council of Thai Thuy district held that this was a meaningful program, contributing to paying tribute to the fallen soldiers and heroic Vietnamese mothers as well as national contributors.

The activities also helped the needy fishermen overcome difficulties so as to continue fishing at sea. This was also an occasion for the coast guards and the local authorities to disseminate the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and law to the locals, contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands.
