The event received the coordination of the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the provincial Border Guard Command, and Public Security Department.

During the event, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and units updated more than 150 fishermen, ships’ owners, chief mechanics, sailors, and seafood traders in Ly Son island district on regulations relating to IUU fishing prevention, the Law on Fisheries, and contents of the Vietnam Law of the Sea.

This event was to actualize the determination of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and functional agencies, party committees, and authorities of localities in Quang Ngai province to prevent and finally end IUU fishing.

On the occasion, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command handed over 50 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to families of fishermen in difficult circumstances, and presented hundreds of national flags and legal brochure to the ships' owners and fishermen.
