Border troops to accelerate support programs for students in border areas
PANO - Border guard units should accelerate support programs for students in border areas, Lt. Gen. Do Danh Vuong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard Command (VBG), said recently at a working session with the Department of Political Affairs of the VBG.

The support programs include the “Supporting children to go to school” program and the model of “Border guards' adopted children.”
Launched in 2016, the “Supporting children to go to school” program has assisted 3,000 needy students in border and remote areas.
Each student receives VND 500,000 per month until they graduate from high schools.
In addition, the VBG held other activities to encourage needy students to overcome hardships and achieve good academic results.
Also, border guard units are taking care of 355 disadvantaged students.
