Troops of Cua Tung Border Station coordinate with the crew-members to move properties ashore and anchor the troubled ship to prevent it from sinking.

* At the dawn of February 8, while conducting fishing activities in the waters of Quang Tri province, a trawler numbered QNa 90406 TS, captained by Tran Cong Xoa from Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, was stranded and crashed into rocks off Cua Tung coast (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province). The trawler had 10 crew-members on board.

Receiving the information, Cua Tung Border Station under the Quang Tri provincial Border Guard Command mobilized 15 officers and soldiers to the scene for the rescue mission. The team coordinated with the crew-members to evacuate properties ashore.

* On the same day, Senior Colonel Tran Cong Thanh, Commanding Officer of Da Nang City Border Guard Command, announced that its troops and functional forces saved a trawler in distress in the waters of the city.

Previously, at 21:30 on February 7, a trawler coded QNg 41464 TS captained by Le Van Hen aged 42, collided with cargo ship Mai Duong 126 of An Phuc Maritime Co., Ltd captained by Le Danh Tung while fishing at sea. The collision caused the trawler to sink after 10 minutes.

A fishing boat numbered BD 40455 operating nearby approached the troubled trawler and took Hen ashore. However, Nguyen Huy Hoang (the remaining crew-member on board) aged 39 from Tuy Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province disappeared.

Knowing this information, the Da Nang municipal Border Guard Command deployed 10 troops and a canoe to the scene. Meanwhile, the command called on nearby trawlers to search for the missing fisherman. At 11:40 on February 8, Da Nang border guards found the body of the victim.
