According to the Border Guard Command, since 2016, the command has implemented the “Supporting children to go to school” program to support orphaned and disadvantaged students, children of needy policy families and ethnic people in border areas.

Up to now, the border guard force has supported more than 3,000 students with around VND 95 billion. Thanks to financial assistance, the students have overcome their difficulties and achieved good academic results. Every year, hundreds of students pass the university entrance exams.

Attentively, this year, 80 students passed the university entrance exams. Among them, student Dam Thuy Mai from the Nung ethnic group in Ta Lung townlet, Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang province enrolled in the Faculty of Multimedia Communications at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology in spite of her needy conditions.

Knowing this information, Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan affirmed that the Vietnam Border Guard Command and other agencies and units would support Mai in the coming academic years. On the occasion, Gen. Tuan gave a personal computer to help Mai make her dream come true.

Earlier, the Military Broadcasting Center called on benefactors to support and present scholarships to Mai in the upcoming academic years.
