Members of the Women’s Union Organization of the Binh Dinh provincial Military Command are with a baby who became orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the last days of the year, they visited and gave gifts to three brothers and sisters, Ta Hau An (11 years old), Ta Le Bao Ngoc (3 years old), and Ta Le Khanh Luu (13 months old) in quarter 12, Ngo May ward, Quy Nhon city. They lost their mother due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s been a year since his wife passed away due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ta Cong Thao was still overwhelmed with pain. According to him, his wife died at the age of 39 while she was eight months pregnant with Ta Le Khanh Luu. Since that day he received support from troops.

According to statistics of Binh Dinh’s functional agencies, by the end of 2022, there have been 34 children who became orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past time, troops and mass organizations of the provincial Military Command have joined the efforts of the local Party Committee, authorities, and people to conduct practical activities in support of needy children and those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Son, Deputy Political Commissar of the Binh Dinh provincial Military Command, agencies and units under the provincial Military Command have decided to provide VND 500,000/ month each to 17 children who lost their father or mother due to the COVID-19 pandemic until they are 18 years old. In addition, children with extremely difficult circumstances are also given books, notebooks, and school supplies.

On the occasion of the Year of the Cat, all those children have received Tet gifts from troops.

The lunar New Year is an opportunity for the armed forces of Binh Dinh province and agencies at all levels to pay more attention to and care for policy beneficiaries, poor households, and vulnerable people affected by natural disasters and diseases, especially orphaned children due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The deed helps motivate children overcome difficulties.
